Why I chose Urban Office coworking

Every workspace is shaped by the people in it. In coworking, the community is one of the most important parts of the whole thing — so from time to time we introduce someone who works here.

This time: Milica Arsić, an HR Ops consultant and training partner for corporate clients. She is a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator, a certified NLP Master, a POY and PCM practitioner, and the founder of Brick Hub.

Milica founded Brick Hub to support individuals and corporate clients in Serbia and the region with personal and professional development, through workshops and training sessions run both in person and online. Most use the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology, alongside several others.

She works mainly with companies that need help setting up and maintaining HR and People Ops systems — startups, micro and small companies — or that want a more creative kind of training for their staff.

The workshops are for anyone who wants to work on interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills — communication, public speaking, active listening, creative thinking. Corporate workshops are tailor-made for each company, aimed at whatever matters most at that moment: teamwork, culture, communication, productivity, faster decisions, new products or strategies.

How long have you been an entrepreneur?

Milica: I have been developing the idea for about a year and a half, and I recently registered officially. So you could say I am still at the beginning.

What are your biggest challenges?

Milica: When you are starting out there are quite a few. One of the biggest is simply getting everything set up, making people aware of you, and landing your first clients. When you are a one-woman show it takes exceptional organisation, discipline, and a lot of time and effort. But I love a challenge, and I enjoy creating things from scratch, so none of it feels too hard. I am also the mother of a three-year-old, Luka — so perhaps my biggest challenge is balancing the businesswoman and the mother.

Why do you work in a coworking space?

Milica: Because I concentrate much better. To be productive I need quiet, which is difficult at home when my child is not at daycare, or in a cafe where there is noise. Sometimes even music distracts me. So: focus.

What are the advantages of coworking?

Milica: The biggest one for me is knowing the doors are open every working day and I can come in even for a couple of hours. The Urban coworking space has everything I need — fast internet, peace and quiet, air conditioning, a kitchen with all the gadgets. And in a place like this you always meet someone new and expand your network, which matters enormously when you are starting your own business.

Do you use the meeting or training rooms?

Milica: I have rented training rooms before, mostly in hotels, and I am running my first session at Urban in late September. I really like the size of the training room, and the biggest advantage is that I can adapt it to the size and needs of the group. It is in the city centre too, so it is easy for people to reach.

What kind of coworking do you prefer?

Milica: I cannot pick just one — I am somewhere in between. I like the traditional concept with hot desks, private offices and separate meeting rooms. But the nature of my work needs flexibility, so the digital-nomad style suits me as well.

What do you like most about being at Urban Office?

Milica: The ambiance. The space is large, calm and quiet, which helps me concentrate. The atmosphere is pleasant, the furniture is modern and comfortable, and I enjoy coming here to work. It is inspiring.

And the advantages of Urban Office specifically?

Milica: Definitely the location, the size of the space and the amenities. You are in the city centre and everything is close — garages, public transport, restaurants, cafes, banks. Inside there is plenty of room to work comfortably without crowding, and everything is in one place.

Would you recommend it?

Milica: Absolutely. The place is inspiring, it has good energy, the staff are very friendly, and the people who come here to work are focused — which helps when you need a little discipline yourself.
